Then
came the turning point. In May 2004, we had reserved 12
rooms for the usual 15/17th Aug Independence Day weekend.
We had sold & paid for 8 of our rooms. We then sold
the other 4 rooms and got the payment from the guest. When
we were transferring the payment to the resort, they told
us that our rooms were accidently released and sold to another
guest. This was very shocking for us, as we had the money
from guests in our hand but left with no rooms. We pleaded
with the resort but as it came to no result, returned the
money to the guest. This is where I had to rethink the whole
arrangement and plan a move, whereby, I would never face
this kind of problem again and I would always have every
kind of option for my guests.
As
they say “Every Dark Cloud Has a Silver Lining”,
the above episode gave me the most important turn, which
till date, has been the most beneficial turning for my travel
company. I decided to go up to Kasauli with my complete
staff and sign-up whatever good I can find. I bumped into
owners of Private Cottages, hotel & resort owners and
many others, who could help me in my endeavours in Kasauli.
Today,
2008, after numerous trips to the nearest & most beautiful
hill station from New Delhi, we offer 28 options. On every
visit I try gathering more knowledge and options. I have
also been instrumental in improving a lot of these options,
so that they are fit for our guests. I absorb every advice
my guests give for the hotel, resort or cottage they stayed
